Little Lamb Children's CenterLocated in the heart of Christ Church, Pompton
Little Lamb Children’s Center is the state licensed nursery and pre-school center maintained by Christ Church, Pompton for children of the extended community.
The program has been in operation since 1991 and the center is housed in the lower level of the church in a secure, recently updated facility. There is a large enclosed play area located at the rear of the church for the children to frolic and play under watchful supervision. This area is fully equipped with play equipment and toys for children of all ages. There are separate rooms for each age group. The infant room has a kitchen and feeding area with a separate section for cribs and a third area for play time. |
The infants' separate area allows adequate rest that is so important for development.
Additionally, the center provides a crib or sleeping mat, sheets as well as diapers and wipes. |
When good weather prevails, children of all ages are taken for strolls and walks on the sidewalks of the surrounding, tree-lined neighborhoods of Pompton Lakes.

Each age group receives age-appropriate instruction each day. Children will follow a traditional pre-school curriculum in the morning. This curriculum includes age- appropriate activities for hand-eye coordination and motor skills. In addition, music, art, counting, and learning the alphabet are demonstrated and cultivated.
Arts and crafts are demonstrated and cultivated during the children’s learning experience with their teachers. 
The oldest group (pre-school 2) learns all the basic skills needed in preparation for kindergarten. At Little Lamb the instruction continues throughout the summertime, and/or enrollment to kindergarten. These learning experiences are interspersed with both indoor and outdoor play time and activities.
Each child will receive age-appropriate instruction each day from their care-givers. |
The Little Lamb Children’s Center director and head teacher is Jean Landon. She is supported by a staff of caregivers.
A day at Little Lamb includes activities for hand-eye coordination and motor skills. In addition, music, art, counting, and learning the alphabet are demonstrated and cultivated.
